Meaningful Work and Money
How to do what you love, contribute to society and make it your living?
Do you wonder how you can have a greater impact through your work and support the change you want to see in the world? Do you feel you might be ready for a next step in your life? Learn what unique gifts you bring to this world, what underlying beliefs might be holding you back and find more clarity on your own contribution in shifting our society towards a sustainable future. Leave with first next steps and insights into how you might make a living out of it (for that is part of the shift!).
In this intensive one day training we bring together the two perhaps most crucial topics of our time: sustainability and meaningful work. In some ways it’s ironic: high unemployment rates while people suffer from burnout or bore-out (being bored with their work). A prevailing paradigm of ‘economic growth’ while that same growth got us into trouble in the first place, and will continue to decrease our chances of living peacefully as a species. Not enough paid jobs available, while there is so much work to do: in hospitals and elderly care, in schools and in the public sector, in protecting nature and taking plastic out the ocean.
We see a need for creating meaningful work: work that makes you happy and that contributes to the well-being of all living beings on this planet. Because we only have one planet. And we only have one life (as far as we know). So why not make the most out of it?
We will begin with the bigger picture: what is the dominant worldview that informs the realm of work and life? How has our thinking about work and money changed over time? Through conversation we will explore what we see is needed in the world now and what meaningful work looks and feels like to you. Before lunch we’ll invite you to examine your beliefs and assumptions around money, and possibly challenge some of them (don’t worry, all in a playful way - whenever we can, we love to play!). In the afternoon we’ll touch on topics of vulnerability, creativity and collaboration as key elements of meaningful work. We’ll create a space in which you can deeply reflect on your gifts and how you can bring these out into the world. You’ll formulate your next wise step, and possibly a full plan of action!
This training is intended for anyone interested in sustainability and personal development and eager to learn how to integrate both elements into their work. Whether you work for an organization or business, are self-employed, or finishing your studies, you will leave feeling more clear about what meaningful work looks and feels like for you, and how you can act on that.
- You will have a stronger connection with your purpose and the gifts you bring.
- You will leave with clarity around the meaning of ‘meaningful work’ to you
- You will reconnect with what makes you come alive and know the next steps towards the most meaningful work YOU can do in this world.
